TP3: Potential Digital Innovations in Industry ABC
In this third section of the Team Project, please imagine 1-2 potential digital innovations that may disrupt the industry of your choice. Think about the various digital applications we have discussed in different industries. Do you see innovations in other industries that can benefit your industry? Could creative use of computing and digital skills dramatically improve the productivity or efficiency of what people in your future profession do? In other words, DREAM BIG!!!! (90 points)
For ideas and inspiration, here are some suggestions:
1. If your interviewees said that they used little to no digital or coding skills, then that means there are a lot of opportunities to improve any of their work processes using digital innovations.
2. Look at innovations from a domain that is NOT the focus of your team project. See if you can borrow innovative ideas from other domains. Remember to use the sources that we have compiled for you:
Healthcare in the Digital Age
Sustainability in the Digital Age
Arts, Science and Business in the Digital Age
3. Combine computing or digital keywords - big data, analytics, coding, Python, informatics, data analytics - with the field you're examining, in Google searches. You will be amazed by what you may find online as inspiration!
4. Watch Dr. Russell Walker's discussion, which exemplifies the many different and creative ways to imagine potential possibilities that may not currently exist in conventional practices.
Your writing should incorporate materials from credible sources, including materials on the course websites, or additional resources recommended by the instructor or the professionals who you have interviewed. You must cite your sources in proper APA style.
You must include at least one image (5 points) and one URL link (5 points).
Part of the grade for TP3 will be based on the team's poster presentation during the finals week (50 points). For instructions please see the Final Poster Presentation page.
